Nobody feeding the ducks
Usually this area of Mote Park down by the Lake is a melee of people and ducks (and other birds) squabbling over hundreds of tons of bread.
At this time of the day and of the year it is a much more tranquil place and the ducks can rest peacefully away from the feeding frenzy. It had been sunny all day but a bit of a breeze started to blow up later in the afternoon just as the sun was setting which was when this shot was taken. The breeze was a mere zephyr compared with what the northern part of the country is experiencing today. We may get it tomorrow. I was hoping for a bit of a sunset, but this was the best it got.
The day ultimately ended on a high but it had been fraught earlier on as I couldn't find a couple of essential documents and had begun to wonder if I'd either never received them or destroyed them in a the lastest batch of manic shedding. Makes good compost does shredded paper. I found it far the best use of some of the rubbish that came my way at work. In fact I used to bring home the big plastic sacks from the commercial shredder we had at work and empty them into the compost bin. At least it did some good on the allotment.
