Tragedy

This will have to serve as my entry for Derelict Thursday. I think that it qualifies as it's broken, useless and about to be thrown away.
It also has taken up so much of my time today that it's now too late to go into town for any other blip.
Just before lunch the dishwasher was pretty full and the door wouldn't close. Having ruled out all other possible causes, it could only be the door latch, which relied on this spring.
After much bad language and grazed knuckles a substitute was pressed forced into service. It works, just. Now to find out if I can get a proper replacement and at what cost.
