Swain's Lock Outhouse

Between mile 16 and 17 on the C&O canal is Lock 21 also known as Swain’s Lock.

I went there specifically to get a photo of the abandoned lock house, only to find that it is being restored and looking pretty good. Fortunately, off to the side was this little building which appears to be slightly too big to be a real “outhouse."

At one time there were canoe rentals here and a food concession and so I am thinking that perhaps this little building was related to those enterprises.
