London from the air

Flying into London tonight to connect with a flight to Edinburgh and unusually I am in a window seat. Usually I opt for the aisle seat as they are easier to get out of and get your hand luggage when you land.

However I was glad I had a window as we got a great view of central London as we approached Heathrow airport. The really bright spot to the lower right is, I think, Canary Wharf. The black ribbon running through the picture is of course the river Thames.
