Displaced Kitten

When I left for work this morning at 8 am the kitten from the downstairs flat was sitting on the chair next to our door. The door to the downstairs flat was slightly opened. When I arrived home from work the door was still opened and the kitten was still wondering in the stair and seemed distressed. I abandoned my plans to meet my husband for Christmas shopping in order to make a few calls to look into the situation and look out for the kitten. I was relieved when the owners finally turned up at 10:15 pm to pick up the kitten. They had had problems with their front door and were unaware that it was unsecured.
