Snow Down Under

BACK GARDEN:

This is part of the lawn behind the house. Right of middle you will see the bed I blipped yesterday, with the Hosta border & the top garage behind. There are 2 oak trees planted parallel on the left. This was the boundary of our original 2 acres. There was a farm behind this. In 1992 we negotiated with the farmer to sell us a further 2 acres which acted as a buffer from the fast encroaching town. It is now like a race course with flowering cherries down the right hand, & over on the left boundary I have an avenue of rhododendrons & camellias with masses of daffodils. Quite a story regarding the large stone. It is called a Chinaman stone & came from Bendigo. Bidding at an auction at Tarras, I paid just under $100 for it.....BUT....we had to get a front end loader to load it on the carrier, & then another at this end to take it off. It added up to one very expensive stone ! Makes a fantastic seat though. Around this time, 2007, we had an American Bishop John Spong, staying & he sat on it to have photos taken. I now call it the 'Bishops Throne'. My husband called it 'Madge's Folly' !
