Lapwing

A cold blustery day at Donna Nook - not that the seals cared! Over 1700 pups this year. The birds were alive today as the wind blew in. Lots of redshank and waders, starlings and turnstones and the beach cleaners the Black Backed Gulls and Magpies!
I loved the way the sun caught the lapwings as they took to the sky, upskittled by something, and then flew down again. Underneath them there are waders who also fly up with them.
A very good day topped by a concert in a local church. We had a meal in the nave and then a concert by the Scholars of Trinity College Cambridge. A very good day!
