Lots of talking, little noise
Quite an experience. I was an observer for the D/deaf, deaf blindness carol service at Chelmsford Cathedral today, invited to assess the service provided. And what a joy it was. Seldom have I seen such warm, engaging conversation with so few words used. And it was also a memorable example of communicating in the widest sense. I couldn't photograph the massed ranks of children, young people and their parents, teachers and supporters, but here's one I managed to sneak of one of the many official signers situated around the Cathedral. Sadly, the autofocus settled on the unimportant, but the sense of the occasion remains. She was magnificent, her whole body, face, hands & expressions telling the story. The greatest cheer sounded for the young boy who signed and sang with such joy & enthusiasm.
