Settling

When I moved into my apartment a few years ago, I went through identifying the damage and imperfections which proceeded my move in. When I pointed out this crack in the wall, the landlord said, "Oh, that's just the building settling. We'd never charge you for that." Now, I kind of like the crack in my wall, which has grown slightly over time. My apartment is perfectly functional, even with this imperfection. It is something that only I notice, something that makes the apartment seem more... mine. Well, that, and the cobwebs. :)
