J is for jetties
December alphabet challenge.
I went for a guided walk today around Henley. I have been many times before but never noticed half of the things pointed out to us. We saw George Harrisons house and Dusty Springfields grave, parts of the workhouse and 700 yr old buildings. One side of the main street is medieval but the other side is Victorian because the 'evil property developers' at the turn of the century torn down the old buildings to replace them with modern ones. Nothing changes! We learnt about the thriving river trade which went into rapid decline with the arrival of the railways.
After that I drove to Surrey to collect Conventboy2 from uni and bring him home for Christmas.
