Edinburgh -Athens of the North- always looks spectacular at this time of year with its Christmas market in Princes St Gardens , winter fair and lights.
Just make certain though you are well wrapped up because its cold. First thing I had to do today was invest in yet another umbrella for the weather is often harsher than in central Scotland and the wind blows in off the North sea.

The purpose of my visit though was to see the annual exhiition of the Society of Scottish Artists in the Royal Academy of Arts on the Mound. Pleased to see an exhibit of Blipfoto - a mini-ipad - in the new media section though disappointed to see it was not linked into the internet.

Here was surely a golden opportunity missed. Why didnt they have it projected on a big screen and allow people to explore the site for themselves?
