First Flight

I was woken this morningby my son scrabbling about on the stones round the pond.

He was photographing the dragonflies emerging from their casings.

I went out to see if I could get the same sort of thing, but couldn't get down low enough because of my knee (still swollen with restricted flexing) so the shots I got weren't worth a fig.

However, I did get this shot as one took its first short flight. The glistening from the newly emerged and filled wings was amazing.

When I went back into the house I found this wee fellow on my shirt.

Without my glasses I could hardly see it but having managed to get a shot in focus (took a few I can tell you) I found the markings round the body to be amazing
