The joy of science in action

A new science museum recently opened near us and we finally made it today. I expected huge crowds of people so was very surprised by the place being almost empty. There were more staff than kids! Anyway it has some great features. There's a foam building room, a dinosaur exploration playground, a musical climbing wall, helicopter tours over LA, a house full of environmentally friendly goodies which you can use in an iPad type quiz to gain points and have your photo on the wall, a recycling truck game (chose items from the conveyor belt for trash, recycling, green waste or special waste), a supermarket game where you have to scan the right barcodes to answer questions on healthy eating. And more.
It's a small museum but it kept us going 2 1/2 hours until they actually had to kick us out! Security closed the gates on us!
Thanks to A's family for recommending it and sorry we didn't see more of you today - the museums one really big negative point - absolutely no phone signal! They need to sort that out as many families will arrange to meet up for playdates and just not be able to find each other!!
Bring on the rain LA, we need it. Thinking so much of those affected by the awful mudslides, downed trees and rocks, and loss of power. We have filled two bins with rain water to water the garden with though so have tried to do a little bit of water conservation!!
