Natasha's Will

The power is off tonight, has been since afternoon. We congregated outside listening to music until the laptop batteries died, and then sat and listened to the night and watched for bats and fireflies. This is Elsie, reading the class novel Natasha's Will, by torchlight. (We later found out that, during a power cut in Shetland, the rest of the class had also been reading the novel without the benefit of electricity).
