Polygonum in frost and snow
Polygonum is a low-growing perennial that's so robust. Its leaves change from green to variegated red as the seasons advance. In December it still retains its russet tones. It does not make much of a picture en masse at this time of year but with this light patina of frost and snow it has been transformed and makes a worthy blip for today. I have also added a light touch poster-edges filter to bring out the crispness.
