Starry starry night

Unfortunately not the shooting star variety which is mean to be active in our skies just now.

Instead these are the corn stars made by a German friend, now sadly deceased, who sent them to me 40 years ago. She used to organise tours to Scotland and had a love of our country.

Each year as we hang the various decorations they remind us of her and her family. The corn stars come in a variety of shapes. This one is the largest and hangs in the bay window behind the Christmas tree. This year's tree is thirsty and is creating a lot of condensation on the windows, leading to some interesting images.
