Newcastle life

Sunderland harbour

This is the view from the roof of The National Glass Centre at Sunderland, looking down towards the harbour and pier. Although it was a chilly December morning, the sun was bright and sky clear and blue.
We took my nanna for a drive along the coast from South Shields and admired the beach along Seaburn and Roker before stopping off at the glass centre. This is a nice museum as you can watch glass being made (and its free). We watched some Christmas baubles being blown and had a walk on the glass roof (where you can see down into the shop below from a great height!). We the had a coffee inside before having a walk in the crisp fresh air along the river Wear. This river is still quite industrial compared to at Newcastle and there are lots of cranes and equipment at port of Sunderland. Its nice to see all the little fishing boats in the river too.
Afterwards we went home and had a nice roast dinner. Then I went to the Assembly rooms for my mam's work Christmas party since her friend dropped out at the last minute and she didn't want to go alone. Thankfully a kind husband came and drove us home as the city centre was super busy with Christmas party go-ers.
