The First Pick

Our strawberries are ripening, and wouldn't you know it we will be away for the next almost three weeks.....our neighbours hopefully will enjoy them.

I've got the cream at the ready and icing sugar (if needed).

Enjoyed coffee and cake this morning at a cafe with friends sitting outside in the sunshine having a right old natter. Two hours later.....oops!! So enjoyable to be able to relax and enjoy friendship and sunshine.

So all packed now and ready to get up at 1.30 am and drive the couple of hours to Christchurch Airport. Such a painful time to catch a flight but that is just the way it is.

A warning....my commenting will be very sporadic over the next few weeks, spending time with our Australian family and the Wellington family arrive next weekend. The temperatures are around 36 deg - I no doubt will be moaning of the heat (just for a change)
