Dryfesdale churchyard

In the midst of life.

Poked my head through the gateway during a wander along Lockerbie's Townhead Street.

An unexpectedly sombre, imposing array of large headstones. By contrast, the inside of the church has a "brightly decorated interior" which I didn't stop to see.

I had to get on to drink tea, talk and celebrate with a great bunch of people around the corner (it's not all work..but it was work, hurray!)
