Gasturbine of unit EC 6:
The burners are being put back into place.
We were having problems with the temperatures after the gasturbine; too big differences.
We have a complete new combustion system on this one so it's a bit trial and error for the manufacturer. Sounds strange but it's true.
So: the suspected burners were taken out.
But: when you want to take out one of the burners which are at the lower part of the machine you have to remove the upper ones first.
There is just not enough space!
So: the shaft is still turning very slowly because the steamturbine (which is on the same shaft) is still very hot.
Just before the burner is put into place we stop the shaft, because when som object falls into the machine we have a serious problem when the shaft is turning....
We only are allowed to stop the shaft for a few minutes, so communication between machinehall and control room must be good.
When they are ready they give us a sign; we stop the shaft; they put the burner into place and we start the shaft again.
Work will be ready at 23:00 hrs; after that the nightshift is going to start it up.
About my yesterdays Blip:
This is the repair, this box will be stuffed with concrete and covered with Rockwool.
By the way: in the pipes (which is the wall of the furnace) the pressure of water and steam can reach 180 bar (2610 PSI)
This is the steel support ( It's now a bit reinforced by the rods) we were afraid of; it became red-hot at the boiler side but we were lucky as far as we can see.
