Mini Bunzini in "The Bun Run"

I have shared before on these pages the story of one man and one rabbit and the special relationship that has grown between them. We got snow this past week, and a few days ago, my husband noticed that Mini Bunzini had dug up a spot in the snow to feast on an especially tasty stand of green grass. (Mini-B also enjoys eating leaves, especially really big ones!)

It wasn't long before my husband dug up a path in the snow that he called "the Bun Run" so that Mini Bunzini would have easier access to the good green grasses. And so that perhaps Mini-B wouldn't suffer the inconvenience or distress of getting cold paws in the snow. (I fear that a pair of special, teeny-tiny, rabbit-sized L.L. Bean - or perhaps more appropriately, "L.L. Bun," as a friend suggested - wicked-good slippers may be in the offing . . . but SHHHH! let's not call them "rabbit slippers!")

And so Mini Bunzini, star of stage, screen, and Internet, is now free to roam around amid the Bun Run each day, enjoying feasting on the green grass without getting its paws chilly or damp in the snow. If we're lucky, we even get to see the rabbit run around at top speed and pop a few "binkies" on occasion!

The song to accompany this image of an eastern cottontail suited up for winter is a tune that talks about another creature and its famous Christmas run: the unlikely but fun duo of Steven Tyler and Brad Paisley perform Run, Run, Rudolph! Music begins at about 1:30. Enjoy!
