Fire In The Distance

This afternoon a fire started in a big bushland park just to the north of us! I glanced out the window to see this massive tower of smoke which looked quite frightening.

I saw online that it was a deliberately lit (by idiots with nothing better to do) fire in Whiteman Park about 8k from where we live!

There were warnings being broadcast as the fire was out of control and houses close to it were threatened!

About four helicopter water tankers were going back and forth from the river to the fire and hundreds of firemen and volunteers were fighting to control it on the ground! Hours later it was brought under control and amazingly I don't think anyone was hurt!
