Dr Dolittle

We travelled to The Cotswolds yesterday afternoon to visit our friends Steve and Julia who own a property at Cotswold Water Park at South Cerney.

In the evening we went to the village pub, The Elliott, for a pub meal as we have been there quite a few times and enjoyed the food and ambiance. It's changed hands a few weeks ago and has been refurbished, not that there was anything wrong before. We were all rather disappointed as the prices have gone up 20% and the menu changed drastically. Basically, they've ruined the dining experience we enjoyed and we all agreed we wouldn't be going back. Why change a winning formula - the pub was always packed?

The blip photo is of our friend, Steve, who is a Dr. (hence the title!) feeding swans and ducks that come and tap on his patio doors to be fed and will wait until they get fed! They buy packs of wholemeal bread for 40p from Aldi/Lidl for the sole purpose. The photo shows him leaning over his balcony feeding the birds on the private lake. Who needs pets?
