..... reverting to childhood while I sit quietly at home preparing myself for a hospital appointment tomorrow.
These four little books are nearly as old as me, and maybe not the thing children today would like. They're illustrated with beautiful nostalgic pictures where the animals are dressed in Victorian clothes. Rather in the manner of Beatrix Potter or Wind in the Willows.
I don't know whether Racey Helps' books are still being published, but I've often see the more modern soft-cover editions in charity shops. I'd never part with mine, they're a little reminder of time when life was lived at a slower pace.
