The lane that runs down a side street here - I've wondered before now if it is also a short cut through to the street at the other end, but not yet had enough reason to go and see. This row of houses doesn't actually have a street in front of it either, but access along the fronts through the front gardens - which is very appealing but perhaps more complicated when you're moving in or out with lots of furniture. This shot would undoubtedly have benefited from having a person in it somewhere, but I was on the way to the shops on my own, and it was raining, so the odds of persuading someone to come out from the warm house and stand about in a dark alley were very slim indeed.
