First Match

A played his first 7-a-side match today, against another local team. Might seem like nothing to anyone else, but for the kids (and maybe the coaches ;) ) it was a big deal.

It was a bitterly cold morning, and I didn't take as many photos as I'd have liked simply because my fingers were freezing. I was also trying to pay attention to how they were playing.

A played a 1/4 of the game in goal, and made a couple of good saves. Then he played centre-midfield and did really well, controlling the middle and making some important tackles. The team we put out was quite strong - all 9 of the kids in this photo are good players, and they won convincingly. Was a good way to start.
