Window Shopping

I'm not sure why, but hospital gift shops have this draw for me, that I can't resist.
They are so cheery, with all the flowers, stuffed animals, and get well cards. I feel like just by walking into one, I will be able to find that magic potion that will heal and soothe the sick.
But that is not for sell in a gift shop. It's all an illusion to make the visitors feel like they have a little control over their circumatances.
I would guess that the woman I talked to today couldn't care less about the promises on a get well card... her husband having just been moved to intensive care.
Hubby is doing well after his pacemaker surgery. So, today he had his liver cat scan. Now, it's time to wait for results.
Meanwhile, I'll stare thru the gift shop window, looking for that perfect gift...
