Squaring up

I wasn't working until this afternoon, so once Mr A had left for work, I got up and on with my chores.

I took a break for some lunch and watched with amusement as the black cat tried to bag itself a squirrel.

There are a few cats that lurk in our garden, but this one (identified by its red collar) is a serial stalker.
Sadly for cat (luckily for squirrels) it's not as good as it thinks it is.

The showdown ended in the magnolia tree. The cat couldn't go any farther, so the squirrel just sat it out, munching peanuts until it was safe to move.

Work was slow this afternoon; tomorrow is the same, I've been asked to just work a half day and they've bunched everyone into one session, rather that have me sitting round doing nothing.

It's always like this at Christmas time, nobody wants to come in, can't say that I blame them but it's frustrating when they book appointments and don't turn up.

I'd rather be at work rather than have wasted time off (Mr A still has to work) but over the years I've realised its better to be earning nothing at home than earning nothing at work!

So, 4 more days then it's officially Christmas for me!
