Light up a life.
This evening myself and Finn attended the 'Light up a life' service at Hereford Cathedral. A truly magnificent building and the perfect setting for such a service. It's hosted by St Michael's Hospice, where both of my parents passed away. (My Dad almost 12 years ago and Mum around 5 1/2) I was pregnant when Mum passed away so Finn never got to meet either of them unfortunately, he still speaks about them like he knew them as I talk about them often in an attempt to keep their memories alive for him.
Finn's been desperate to go into the cathedral for ages so I figured that this poignant service would be as good a time as any for him to attend. I have taken him once before but he was only quite little so wouldn't remember it.
We had to have a few wanders about during the service as he found it a little long. The cathedral looked truly stunning when the lights were dimmed and the candles were all lit......everyone taking a little moment to remember the ones they'd loved and lost. Finn holding Grandpa Holbrook's candle while I got to hold Grandma Holbrook's.
