Colour and Texture

Crocosmia 'Lucifer' is lying down to rest for the winter having made a useful addition to the hot border in summer with its fiery red flowers and sword shaped foliage. It's ready for splitting and has been added to my spring tasks list, which is getting really long. I'll use the clumps to revamp my front border, adding a bit more height and drama as well as colour.
The shot was taken using the picture effect/illustration setting and reminds me of a William Morris print, although I can't remember which one. Wonder what he would have made of digital photography???
