The stage is set . . .

A terrific concert, though I say so myself! We sang our hearts out, especially with Zadok the Priest and The King Shall Rejoice!

The Peter Maxwell Davis piece, Solstice of Light, was challenging to say the least, but we did it and it was a very rewarding sing, and well received. Knowing the composer was in the audience was slightly nerve racking, but apparently he was impressed by our performance. We were conducted by Martyn Brabbins and the organist was Michael Bawtree, just in case you were wondering! Orkney Camerata accompanied us for the Handel pieces.

Singing in St Magnus cathedral is always special, but more so at Christmas with the lights and the tree up. Very seasonal weather too - sleet and hail, thunder and lightning!
