Leave a car out, abandon it, neglect it and it will return to nature. The snails will have a party on the bonnet.

I have a visit from a sluggy pal in my living room most nights. Sometimes he himself makes himself known in person (he? person?) or at other times he leaves his signature. He is affectionately known here as Mr Soft.
It is literally impossible for him to get in the flat. All doors and windows have been closed for weeks. When I come across him, I pick him up and place him outside (for the good of both of us). And yet, the next day he’s back. I’ve become quite fond of the little lad and would miss him in a way if he no longer visited.
