Packenham Road
This is probably the first time I've read the name of this road (on an online map), just around the corner from another road whose name I was ignorant of, Sloperton, which indeed does slope and curve steeply and sharply upwards, to De Visci Terrace, above Cumberland Street in Dún Laoghaire. There are still quite a few of these fragments of older Dublin suburbia, warped granite walls shawled in ivy, enclosing well-matured treeish gardens, a whiff of earthy leafmould, while the newer brighter arteries, connectives for the nearby commercial nodes, swirl and buzz and beep around them.
