The enchanting Tower of London

I was so lucky to spend two nights in a hotel overlooking this magnificent Norman building. I couldn't help thinking what it must have been like when the banks of the Thames weren't as built up as they are now, and it could be seen for miles in all it's glory and splendour back in the 11th century. I also wonder what it must have been like for the very unfortunate Princes in the Tower in the 15th century...
