help!!!

having waited for a still day, managed to secure the bloom so the centre can be seen, gorillapodded camera & macro lense in place, am soooo disappointed in the result, after many tries.

so would really welcome advice from all the experts out there please.

understand the very shallow DOP with macro, but the centre seems to be shot - is the problem the high contrast between the dark petals & light centre? tried metering off petals, then centre - still nothing that worked. would flash help? reflector? don't possess the latter...

ps it's a hellebore - can't remember which kind - orientalis possibly
