March Madness

For those of you who don't know what March Madness is, it's a tournament run by the NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association) in the USA of the best of the best basketball teams in the country. In total, 64 men's teams and 64 women's teams compete. The teams get divided into 4 regions with 16 ranked teams in each region until eventually there is only one winner.

This March's tournament has really turned out to be madness. All of the lower seeds are winning games and the team that was considered the best of the number 1 seeds was just eliminated by a number 9 seed and I had them winning the whole tournament.

At my school, the women's basketball team has won our division championship for the past 5 years in a row and because we have won that, we have made it into the NCAA bracket. We played in the first round of the tournament today and lost by 20 points. It was sad to lose mostly because that was the last basketball game that our seniors will ever play in. =[ One of our seniors holds 13 school records, 6 titles, and has made it as far as the sweet 16 in the NCAA tournament in her basketball career. She is so amazing that her jersey number is being retired. I wish all of our seniors luck, it will be very very sad to see them go.
