Auberge in small French town

We are staying at the Maison De Plumes for the weekend.
No evening meal available tonight so to the local Auberge for a tasty bite.
I had an omelette and W1 had a steak (not the Cheval steak that was on the menu) both with chips. The French do really really good chips.
I had beer she had wine, a very sweet wine of unknown origin. She pulled faces at the first glass but the forth one evidently tasted OK
