Tai Chi tea party.
Our Tai Chi master invited us all to his house today for an end of term get together.
Everyone brought something to eat, which turned out to be pretty much one cake per person!
One of our group is slightly obsessed with tea and she brought along a very intriguing Gong Fu set, along with a 'small' selection of tea. Now, I have always detested tea but was willing to give it a go as J was going to all the effort. Imagine how delighted I was to find some that I actually liked. At least two of them didn't taste anything like tea to me. Very delicate, refreshing and with non of that weird taste that I always recoil at with ordinary tea. I really enjoyed the Puerh a cooked tea and the Oolong, which was very refreshing.
After our marathon tea and cake sampling session, we headed out to the terrace overhanging the sea and were treated to some Tai Chi weapons form demos from our Tai Chi master (that's him in the pic). He then gave us a wee shot of the weapons - sword, sabre and spear, most entertaining! Although we did notice that we were all inclined to make light sabre and Kung Fu movie type sound effects when we were doing it.
All in all, a very entertaining Sunday afternoon. Although someone did point out that we were in breach of the Orcadian by-law that states where there is a gathering of more than six people there must be a raffle.
