Cranse Iron

Well this one is bronze actually.
It is on the tip of the bowsprit on Saffwy and the gov has given me some time off the kitchen to get the boat ready to take back to Rutland.

The cranse iron has the forestay connected to one lug and the bobstay connected to the other with a pair of blocks that give me a four part purchase to bowse down the end of the bowsprit and tension the forestay.

Aren't nautical terms lovely?
