Ahhhh, bollix, I'll keep playing the Lotto then.

Because even if the intensive conditioning of the kids goes according to plan (get at least one of the so-far-useless wasters to work for an airline), it will be a minimum of 12 years before we can get our sun-craved little hands on those stand-by tickets again...

Although I must admit that since last Saturday, I have developed a very rational fear of flying.
Nothing to do with the reliability of modern airliners or the level of professionalism of the flying crew, no.

Here is an extract of a typical conversation in the Air Traffic Control tower at Dublin airport:
"... and them culchies were all over the gaff. But there was no fookin way they were getting tickets. Oops, lads, I think we've lost the EI435 to EDI, it's not blinking on me screen any longer... anyways, your one comes to me at the turn style, and there is no fookin way he is comin into Crokers. Not over my dead body. etc"
