From the Mountains to the Sea

I haven't sailed much at all this year so I thought I'd go out for a little single handed day-sail. Only 1.5 knots of wind so I motor sailed from Newport to Dana Point. Relaxing and doing some good reading when a pod of about 50 Dolphins got my attention and 6 of the largest ones escorted me back to Newport. A beautiful day with lots of assorted seabirds, some really large pelicans and the usual gaggle of sea lions. Peggy came down to the boat around 5 in time for a beautiful sunset dinner and an evening of doing homework in the slip. One of the great things about living here is the fact that, if you want to, you can surf in the morning and snow ski in the afternoon.

I'll stick to sailing.
