Completely and utterly thatched

I love the colours and textures of the thatching being done on a cottage down the lane from me, and reminds me of watching Monty Don's recent series on craftsmanship; one of which was on 'Thatching'.

There is something so intrinsically beautiful about 'thatch. It's all in the detail; like these twisted hazelnut stakes that are used to hold the thatch in place, so simple, but so effective.
