I saw this bursting out of the trunk of one of the smaller trees in the Scotmid car park. I'm not sure of the species, just one of those trees favoured for municipal plantings - but no less welcome for that. There was also a heavenly smell of fragrant resin wafting from the balsam poplar at the other end of the car park.

After taking the photo I stepped backwards; luckily I only took one step or I would have gone down into a drain hole that had had its grating removed. Could easily have sprained the other ankle. Apparently people steal the drain covers and sell them for scrap.

Ah, the weekend approaches. Maybe I'll get a chance to browse through some blips and possibly even comment on them....steady on, M!
