Soft
Well i had to do something different today to save yet another standard bird photo, so there's an almost abstract featheryness to this... Mind you, it was a close run thing. The Mallard's Curls weren't quite in full view, I loved the Blue Swan shot, and this little Coot decided to have a go at my trainers.
Another full day - up reasonably early (well, it felt early given the clocks going forward) to head to Mel's MRI appointment. I was allowed to sit in with her despite the metal in my arm, and watched some Father Ted while the machine whirred away. The results of what might be wrong with her back could take up to two weeks! But the people at the MRI place were really, really nice - it's the system from here that then takes the time.
Off to Mortonhall garden centre for a few bits and pieces, then putting those bits and pieces to good use. New trellis on the shed; chitted potatoes planted; area for the garden's third raised bed cleared; and half that raised bed built before the heavens opened properly forcing a retreat inside. Not long after, though, my brother called on his way back north to see if he could pop in for a cuppa, and so I dragged him down off to the Figgate (not seeing a lesser-spotted Trev today...).
And so after a trip to Asda for a few essentials it's time to settle down for the inevitability of the end of Sunday night and the promise of Monday morning to follow. Going to be anodd few days - we have a strategy day with work on Tuesday, at Houstoun House, with people from our other offices being given a jolly to Edinburgh. Too much detail to be gone into, but it all seems like a lot of expense, and a lot of effort, that I'm not sure is going to get us anywhere with the way it is all falling together.
I'd like to be proved wrong. But I'd also like to win the lottery, score the winning goal for Newcastle in the FA Cup final and have an Aston Martin on the drive. What I'd like, and what happens in reality, are two very different things.
