A week in the life of Adam Cotter: Tuesday
The good thing about working nights is getting time to yourself during the day. Lot of people don't understand that, but why would you want to do what everyone else does?
Most of the time, other people just get in the way.
To me, it makes sense to get the train up town when it's not busy. And when I can, most Tuesdays that's what I do.
Maybe see what's on at the pictures - or if there's an exhibition on at the museum or something, I might go to that. Mostly the kind of things you can't get to see in a crappy little town.
But what I like best is deciding which DVD I'm going to buy myself.
Sometimes I think it's the choosing that's the best part, that feeling you get when you're really looking forward to seeing something. And there are times when reading the write-up on the case is better than watching the film.
But I reckon you get something out of everything you watch - good or bad.
Right now, I'm dead into foreign-language films. Before that though, it was westerns - I couldn't get enough of them for a while. Can't remember if it was Ealing Comedies then the Coen Brothers before that ... or the other way round. It'd be in my film journal, anyway.
