Spanish Moss

I am a little obsessed with all the spanish moss hanging from the trees around here. I think it is beautiful. It was named because it looks like the beards of the conquistadors, but is actually not a moss at all but in the pineapple family.

Taught freshman biology lab downtown today and did an experiment with cut out butterflies and their adaptations to increase body temperature before they fly, lots of fun!
