What's Bellingham Like?

The sign sums it up quite well. Bellingham is very much a laid-back, informal, friendly, kind of place. It's a place where people don't take themselves too seriously, and enjoy referring to themselves as 'hamsters (short for Bellinghamsters). It's a college town, and of the many retirees living here, a significant percentage appear to be ex-profs -- but that conclusion is based on a very unscientific study by yours truly.

The slogan on the sign is the name of a business which apparently is now defunct. My What's This All About? blip was a photo of the storefront window display.
