Silbury Hill

Mid-afternoon walk took me around Silbury Hill. The unfavourable light sadly doesn't do it justice, but this man-made Neolithic chalk wonder, with surrounding ditch, is the tallest prehistoric human-made mound in Europe, and is 4,750 years old. A kestrel hovered overhead and three mallard ducks wheeled nearby.
