Queen Anne's Garden
A day off work and an annual trip to Stirling Castle. The staff were gearing up for a busy weekend.
The picture shows the bowling green of Queen Anne's garden with the Royal Palace and Prince's Tower to the right. The Palace is undergoing a £12m restoration and will be open to the public next year.
I'm very fond of this garden and the extensive views it has over the flat Forth floodplain to the west. The huge old beech tree at the end must've seen some sights in its time. I remember one visit a few years ago while relaxing on this grass, a Norwegian brass band burst to life under tree. They played the theme tune to Postman Pat. I kid you not.
