I Need a Doctor
We have a little birdhouse hanging on the fence out back, and there were some bluebird eggs in it a couple of weeks ago. Apparently, they've hatched and gone, because there are no eggs presently there. Well, my nephew was playing in the back yard, and he came running and told us that there was a tiny egg on the ground.
I'm not sure what caused this tiny creature to fall from the house, although, we do have a neighborhood stray cat that seems to come 'round from time to time. I'm not sure if he's the culprit.
After taking this picture, I began to peel away the eggshell to see if I could determine what might have caused the bird to hatch but not survive. As I was doing so, it began to move about, opening and closing its beak. I'm sure the momma bird has long since abandoned the birdhouse, but the only thing I could think to do to give this one a chance was to replace it in the house and hope it is cared for.
